Buying Software

Unfortunately, the computer trade in India has left an impression in the minds of the user that soft ware comes free with computer and it is mandatory on the part of the hardware supplier to load what ever software user demands.

• Check which of the official / legal software have been provided by your vendor as OEM along with the computer.

• Make a list of additional software that you MUST buy in order to make it work.

• In OEM copes , you some times get word processor and spread sheets which work the same way and are the lower versions of the popular software. So if you familarse yourself with it, you may net be required to use illegal or buy expensive version with features which you may not even use.

• In case you gave multiple computers in our Home or Office, check which software you actually need to run frequently on which computer. In case you are in a position to shift your application, you may actually save on one extra copy of same software.

• Software companies officially offer paper licenses at lower prices and also offer discount on multiple copies. Check for the offers while buying.

• Buying all the software that you require along with computer could be a wiser decision as OEM versions are lower in cost.
